New to PTW - why no Med Inf

I've discovered Feudalism and my city has iron, yet I have no option to build Med Inf.

What am I missing?
 
I believe a decision was taken to disable the swordsman upgrade path for the PTW options this month, in order to
(a) make it easier to make the vanilla game play like PTW and vice versa; and
(b) because it rather ruins the strategy dilemma in the early game (i.e swordsmen vs spearmen vs archers)

It was discussed in the vanilla civ load info, but maybe not in the PTW stuff - I was playing vanilla GOTM until my %$&# game went bananas
 
You are missing the key point:

1) Reading the instructions where this is mentioned about 10 times in every possible location that the Mace and Rambo units are turned off for Gotm17-Carthage and Gotm18-Celts. We have it in the PTW transitions thread, on the frontpage of the game announcement, and on each of the instruction pages for teh games that detail to you the specific examples of things that are implemented in these games to address some of the discrepencies that have been noted in the basic PTW game. (See also the info about outposts, airfields, and radar towers.)

Also just as a matter of procedure, please honor my primary request to NEVER open a discussion thread on any topic associated with a currently open GOTM game. You should never feel comfortable in taking this approach without first contacting me by Private Message or Email.
