New Zelda might be nearly ten times larger than Skyrim

Continuing off-topic, but what's the graphics demand of The Witcher? I've been using Canyourunit recently but even when I don't meet the minimal demands I often somehow run games without problems

I would wait until you had a better computer for The Witcher 3 TBH, it's such a gorgeous game and one that you definitely want a good frame rate while playing.

The Witcher 1 should be fine though, it's pretty old now. The Witcher 2 depends on your specs but it's not exactly a heavy hitter anymore.

Just turn off MSAA and you'll usually be fine. I can run witcher 2 at 60 fps with it off, on I slow to like 15. My rig isn't that great, amd r9 270, i5 760.

I still haven't played twilight princess btw, the last zelda game I purchased. I got it a few years late when nintendo did those classic releases for $20, I think around 2009. Played a couple hours, forgot about it. I don't think this one game would be enough to turn me into a console gamer.

Breath of the Wild is shaping up to be my new favourite Zelda game of all time.

I even played a demo of it in Nintendo New York when I visited that city.

I can't wait for next year!

Man it looks awesome. Getting perfect 10s on many review sites. Switch is not getting great reviews though. Seems underpowered, lacks games, has no other content/functions. Might be worth buying a used wii u just to play zelda.

Well, that's Nintendo. Been this way since the N64. That one wasn't underpowered but didn't have many games either. It seems to work for them though. Carved out a nice niche as a purveyor of "kiddie consoles".
Zelda looks really good, but I'm not dropping 330 € on a console with one game I'm interested it. They'd have to come out with a lot more games and at least one of them better be Metroid.

Well I think that's kind of the beauty of the game. It's open so you can do the main stuff or not. Other reviewers cite playing it for 30 hours without touching the main quest.

I get that they launch without many games, that's fine, I'll just wait for more games to come out. But I don't get why nintendo consoles always have to be so lacking in oomph. One review says it plays at 900p on tv and stutters at some points. That kinda sucks. Also it can't even stream netflix, which ok I don't need another streaming device on my smart tv, but on the go it could be cool cus the screen is a lot bigger than my iphone. It's not a deal breaker, it's just kind of like, really nintendo? In this day and age?

The Nintendo Switch screen size is almost the same as that as the Sony Xperia Z Ultra.

Good thing Breath of the Wild can be played during long road trips, long flights, and when stuck inside a bus, light rail vehicle, or train (including the subway/metro).

ha good luck with that, battery is only about 3 hours while gaming. I don't know what you mean by long, but 3 hours isn't a long flight. It is a good commuter device though. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/how-long-does-the-nintendo-switch-battery-last/1100-6448164/

Although digging a little deeper that seems to be the norm for handheld games. I'm a bit surprised.

I seem to recall my old gba sp lasting about twice that long.

In all these gaming leaderboards there is always a guy called raptor.

Open world games are vastly overrated IMO. Such a huge space instantly makes me doubtful I would have a lot of fun in what is at its core a story driven game.

Open world is great if there is no other real point other than exploration (Minecraft and possibly No Man's Sky), but just makes a game too bloated if there's a story.

This is why I really can't play most of the big RPGs coming out. Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Witcher, etc. Unpopular opinion I know, but give me a tight, linear, focused experience any day of the week for a game with a story over open world.

If it's to have a linear story to follow, a movie is probably a better medium.
Open world can be well done or not, and I certainly can appreciate tight stories, but linearity is bad and ability to decide is the fundation of what game is. Open world is a superior design in general.

BotW released the first DLC pack.

There's a new optional side-quest to allow the Master Sword to be permanently unbreakable and be permanently at full strength.

I want to play this game so badly, but not badly enough to shell out for a new nintendo.
