I know this question has probly been asked a thousand times, but anyways here i go:
I want to add more units to the games, I have some if collected from various places on the net, but have already replaced the standard game units with them but i want to have more units for example I already have a stealth fighter(standard) but i want to have a modren day Fighter without changing the standard fighter you get with the advancment of "Flight"(ww2 type fighter), so i was wondering how do i do this without messing up the game? Thanks

Not sure I understand what you want to do. Do you already know how to go into scenario mode and edit units? You can change chariots to a new type of fighter, if you want, but there is an upper limit on the number of types.

This question would be better asked in the Scenario Creation Forum, which deals with units and graphics as well as scenarios.

I did some snoopin around and found the line in the "Rules.txt" that says you can add 3 more units to the end of the game. I changed them to what i wanted in the game but want a few more units to be able to use and noticed at the bottom of the "Units.gif" that theres a whole row not in use, this is where my question comes into play, can i add units there and have them show up in the game?

if any of you have AOL IM my name is Napalmnights4149

Still no help there Smash sorry, but i guess what i mean is can i add units to the last row in the "Units.gif" (where the standard barbarian dude is on the left side and on the otheres theres a modern catameran and a one eyed sea monster thing) and have them work in the "Classic" Civ2 game?

The answer to that is Yes, but the details are best gleaned from the Scenario Creation forum either here or at Apolyton, which is where Smash's link led.

ElephantU, i aksed the question there on the scenario/units forum the day of the last response(day before i responded here) was like june trhis year, so i figured that forum maybe dead. Im not really creating a scenario im just editing the units for when the game is in its final stages there are more units then just armor, stlh. fighter, stlh. bomber,Alpine troops, etc... to include(what i added/what i want to add)
1.(extra land)-Adv. Modern Armor
2.(Extra ship)-Air Support Plane
3.(Extra air)- Multirole fighter(F-16 type)
Last row in "Units.gif"
4A. Specail Forces-U.S.A
4B. Air Defense(SAMs, Partiot Missiles)
5A.Specail Forces-England
5B-?. Specail Forces-different nations, or ships for different nations

The long and short of it: Yes you can it but I would recommend strongly against it, messing with the default files is frought with perils.

How to do it?

1. edit the units.gif and paste the units into the blank spaces.

2. edit the rules.txt so that the prerequisites of the three extra units are some existing technology.
