yeah, a granery makes it so growth takes half as much food, thus growth at double speed.

I'm haveing trouble with armies, the ones I get through victories work fine but whenever I build them I dont seem to be able to load anything into them, am I missing something? Thanks
 
Nearly forgot, how do I disband a city? Do I have to starve it down to 1 then build a worker or is there another way? Thanks again..
 
When you right click a city, there is an option called "Abandon City" in the menu that comes up. I think this option appeared in vanilla 1.21. I highly discourage use of this though since it is an utter waste of good and useful population(nothing comes of it, the city just disappears).
 
sjpashler: abandon city from the right click menu will do ;) but if you want to get something out of it, build (rush) workers, then make sure the city doesn'tgrow the turn the last settler/worker gets built. You'll get a pop-up asking what to do :D


load troops into armies by moving them onto the smae tile, then press 'L'
 
I just started playing CIV3 PTW about a month ago and I think CIV3 is fantastic. I just have one question, how come that at certain point in the game the computer would give this message "LOAD ERROR Cannot Find (a certain file, usually from the arts folder e.g.,worker modern) The game will now exit". This happened to me twice and each time I have to start all over again. Can anyone help me with this one?

Hmm. Maybe you have messed up the unit graphics, perhaps you have downloaded some mods which have screwed up the folders. I'd try to reinstall the game.
 
Hi All!

I recieved CivIII for Christmas (thanks :santa:) and found this site in February. I feel that it is probably one of the best games ever created and that Firaxis should list this website with the game!

With that said, I entered Season 4 of the tournament and found it to be very enjoyable. It made me look up aspects of the game that I hadn't considered before. Even though I won the Diplomatic Victory (with a great deal of help from this site), I ended up being rated "Mao the Foolish". This brings up two questions:
1. What things do I need to look at to improve my game?
2. Will we get to discuss what things worked for different players in 4-1 and what things didn't since the submission deadline has passed?

Check all the spoilers threads for 4-1 in the tournament forum; that's where people say what they did and how the game went. Also, people are (roughly) grouped by skill level, so you get some good comparisons out of that.
