So I just picked up my newly bought Civilization 5 game, and to my dismay I realize that my newly bough notebook doesn't have a cd- or dvd-player. Go figure huh.

So what's my move here?

Is there any way to install Civ5 without a cd? As it is now, I can't send the game back since I broke the seal (idiotic, yes).

Yes, you can install and download from steam using the serial key code in the box you bought.

Create a steam account if you do not have one already
Choose to Games>Activate a Product on Steam from the steam menu and enter your serial key at the appropriate point.
Steam will check the code then add it to your library and start downloading. It is rather large so may take a while.
No disc needed, all the disc does (if you can use it) is save the download time.

Er... are you sure your netbook can run it? Before using the CD key make sure your notebook meets the recommended requirements! If it does not AND you have NOT used the serial key yet you can still return it (you will probably have to talk to a manager or something but you should be able to as long as you have not used the key).

You can try the demo on steam first, before you even open the box.
