no gold when running under vmware

Hi,

I decided to see if I could run Civ4 under VMware workstation now vmware can support directx9.

So far I've got it to install and work, and it's fast enough on my work machine, but all the commerce and hammer icons are instead food icons. Has anyone seen this before /

This is with the latest civ4 vanilla.

I'll upgrade it to BTS and see if that's any better, but I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this.

EDIT: The host OS is Linux, 64bit (SLED11) the guest OS os WinXP32bit, SP3.

I have not seen reports on civ and vmware (you might wantto check the linux thread thats stickied in this subforum though). Does vmware support directx9c or just 9?

The unpatched version of Civ 4 gave only food icons on certain old graphics cards. I had this problem with a GEForce 2 MX400 running under Windows ME. It was resolved in the first patch. If you have patched Civ 4 Vanilla I doubt that it is the same issue.
