No HALL OF FAME?

It's like they removed all forms of competition from Civ 6. Brain dead AI won't compete within games, and no hall of fame removes competition with yourself between games.

They really want to push multiplayer

No hall of fame, no replay video - not some lame graphs ... this "small" stuff is what pisses me off, i can understand major gameplay issues or design flaws but to omit simple but essential pieces of civilization game is what disappoints me.

There is no final reply in civ vi ? Whaaat ?

I'm shocked and deeply disappointed

There is no map replay option at the end of a game, just a video and graphs. But the civ V stile hit play and watch your empire gobble up the map is not present. However, IIRC, and I probably dont, ciV didnt have a map replay on launch either.

I wonder how many features Firaxis has intentionally left out to sell DLC and how much will be fixed in a Xmas patch instead.

I think people forget as well that the process of adding features to a game is a long bureaucratic process. While something might be simple and easy to program, it still has to go through all of the approval channels including QA, and then has to be put in a master file after final approval before the lock in date. Its the most likely reason why there are more menu options in the xml that arent present in the actual games options.

I know i will get roasted for this, but this game is just not FUN for me. Anyone else experiencing this? Not sure its the hall of fame thing or the cartoonish graphics, but I might go back to playing 5. Im not a miserable person or troll....been playing civ since the beginning

I loved the Civ IV Hall of Fame, hope to see it implemented soon.

But before they can do that, they need to fix the scoring system. Right now, it seems like your game score is only a function of how much progress you've made. I just won in Deity in the early 1600s with a 20-city empire and got Neville Chamberlain. The scoring system doesn't seem to reward speed at all.

I thought I saw a replay option at the end of a game... it was kinda buried. Could be wrong.
The replay button on the ending screen doesn't do the map replay thing from previous Civ games, it replays the victory/loss "movie" that just played beforehand.

It's likely tied to finish date, as it has been traditionally. An 1800s victory isn't an early victory, which is where one can really crank up the score.

So I just did sub 50 win on Deity, and got a score of 22....so no time based improvement in score, it seems.

It literally is just your score...basically making it impossible to get the top ranks.

Your opinion is extremely valid. I alternate Civ V and VI games and prefer V.

On topic, what I do is when my game is about to end (victory condition), I save that game. So if they implement Hall of Fame, I can just load those games (that I have already won but saved the turn before), win again, and get my scores saved.

No roasting from me. There is threads that discuss why civ6 is less fun and the HOF is certainly one to add to the list. The trouble is each thread just gets filled with rants rather than constructives which are there spread out among the threads.

Another good one on the boil at the moment is United nations. It adds something new as you go through, extra bits that relieve the monotony of click next.

I prefer Civ 5 graphics, religion, diplomacy, combat (most), moves. Strategic resources.

My issue is when I go back to Civ 5 the mechanics to me winning have just been played too much. I am bored there while I am still discovering Civ 6. I am trying to play for a points victory peacefully which is a nice challenge but a long one. I give myself targets like... can I be friends with everyone, can I win a cultural victory through just seaside resorts?. How many national parks can I place. Can I jet a massive fleet built in every sea. It keeps me amused which is what a game is supposed to do... but I play these on Emperor not deity. Deity and Immortal just seem to broken ATM.

I mostly stopped playing Civ V about 1.5 years ago and just went back once a month for a game, that felt better. may be an option?

I will try that. I started playing 5 again and am having more fun with that.

I don't know why the Hall of Fame is such a big deal for some people. It's just a convenience feature. If you want to beat your own best score, make a note of your score every time you finish a game. That's what I do. Yes, the game should do it for you, but it's easy to do it yourself.

As for Civ 5, I just didn't take to it, and stopped playing it for good after a few months, which never happened to me with any previous version of Civ. I haven't gone off Civ 6 yet, although to be sure the AI is rather unchallenging. I can still try to beat my own best score...

Didn't Civ V also ship without a Hall of Fame?

I could never get Civ 5's hall of fame working. Even despite trying the "fixes" I found on the internet. Really annoying. I really do like to try to top myself.
