No Menu?

I was playing a game and my I got whooped by Caesar, so I quit to menu, and began a new one. The next game I played there was no menu, not interested in playing the game using purely hotkeys, I came here for help. By menu I mean character actions, no Found City button or anything. Thanks in advance.

If you've patched to 1.61 make sure you've cleared your cache and emptied your custom assets folder. Several people have reported text vanishing with 1.61 and it's caused by incompatible mods.
