No Penalty from crossing river ?!

In my recent game, I encountered a strange bug/scenario (see combat odds):

As you can see, there is no river crossing penalty. Does that mean river crossing penalty only applies to enemy borders and not your own?

the combats odds calculator does not correctly take into account rivers when moving more than one tile, IIRC.

Yep. If you move 2S and then highlight the attack again it will take the river crossing into account.

If you move 1S, then 1SW and attack from there, the river is not in play. I think the engine will do that if you launch attack from original position.

So I got curious and experimented on this. If I move 2S, the combat will be like this:

Retreat. Yuck!

If I move 1S then 1SW, the combat result will be like this:

A win!

Now, the million dollar question is what happens when you attack 3 tiles away?

Yes my friends, the conclusion is that the pathing may correct but the combat odds calculation sometimes go bananas. So you got to be careful sometimes.
