I my first GOTM game (I lost), my resources were exhausted!!

Other civs offered me oil at over 200GP/turn

you have 3 options:

1. go into the ditor and increase resource appereance of coal, rubber, aluminum, uranium and oil by about 10 to 20% each.

2. learn to play far more peacefully thus increasing the chances that through diplomacy and trade you will still have acess to resources that are not within your empire (switzerland style). learn to play far more aggressively, without any qualms about taking by force whatever you lack (totalitarian style).

3. throw the game in the trash.

I reccomend number 2.

4. Play on my user-made maps. Go to Maps: the Star Series, and download some. I place about 5-6 locations that an Iron Works is possible on each map. Rubber is found only in jungles, and jungles are found only in the tropics. No cities can be built in jungles on my maps, by the way. Just plan ahead when it comes to city placement!
