No TnL => Black Terrain? Maybe Not.

I've seen the exact same thing. It shows up right away if you play on small and tiny maps. The fog is revealed at the wrong place and it doesnt scroll with the underlying terrain tiles.

Its like they use some kind of texture overlay or something and it doesnt scroll and position correctly..

I tried playing with Assets\xml\Terrain\CIV4TerrainSettings.xml but nothing really happened except that my oceans looked less striped I think..
That file has some Shader/Lighting and Fog colour settings for terrain, among other things.
Try playing with it and see if it changes anything for you - but dont forget to clear the cache, just in case.
You clear the cache by nuking the Civ4 directory in:
C:\Document and Settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\My Games\


I have Radion 7500 with 64mb, newest 5.10 Catalyst.
Leaders teeth + black terrain problem, unpacked Art0, etc, etc....
