No uranium in Gathering Storm?

I have Civ VI Gathering Storm. I never get a single uranium deposit (in several games), yet I always get 3 uranium per turn as though I had one mine.

Yeah, if uranium pops up under a city, district, wonder or (happily) a mine, your civ will automatically mine it. City states that you are suzerain of will also give you any strategic resources (like uranium) that they have iirc. If you miss the sidebar notification letting you know where uranium deposits were found in your civ's territory, I think there's a resources tab that you can look at to see how you're getting your uranium. If it's from one of your cities, just head over to the city and mouse over individual tiles to figure out which tile is giving uranium per turn.

You can do a map search for Uranium which will find where it is. If it is not under a district, its in a CS.... but I think thats only 2 regardless of Hattusa
How do I do a search? I've just been looking manually.

There is a search button just above the minimap, next to the other minimap filter buttons.
I don't seem to have the same version of the game as you two. Mine is version 1.0.0.290, Civ VI gathering storm. Above my minimap are 5 buttons, lenses, options, pins, strategy, fullscreen. Nothing which indicates it would search.

Your version is like 4 versions old. Current number ends in 341. Steam installs updates automatically. So... you must've been playing with Steam offline since before April this year?

It doesn't seem to want to update. Nevermind, I can live without the search function. What is this Steam/Origin crap anyway? Why can't games just be standalone? All steam seems to do is give me spam.

Are you sure you have a legal copy of the game? Sales come regularly, small and big, if you want to save.

Not that I'm some sort of Steam fan or anything but I don't get any spam from them, ever.

I already have the game, why would I want to buy it again?

Not email spam, but constant popup notifications of a steam update every time I boot the computer, which is usually just more adverts for games I don't want.

You have the game, or a version of it, which, in your own words, "doesn't seem to want to update". If your Steam is in "online" mode and the update doesn't start on its own when released, all it takes to trigger it is to close Steam and start it again. If you still have some problems, then usually you contact Steam support. In normal circumstances your situation is hardly possible, unless you have some problems with the internet connection/firewall settings or haven't ran your Steam client in "online" mode long enough at least once since April, or unless for some reason you manually rolled back to earlier version. Do your other games on Steam, if you have any, update normally?

Some update themselves, some I have to manually click something in steam to make them update. My internet connection works for everything else. It isn't really enough of a problem for me to look into. Steam is in online mode all the time the computer is on, which is about 12 hours a day. And it's certainly capable of spamming me with popups of games I don't want.

Not getting those either. Just quick steamlauncher updates now and then when I start up Civ.

Don't you get those irritating popups advertising games?

Back to the original topic, there's clearly a lot less uranium since gathering storm was installed. It used to be as common as coal and oil. I still see plenty of those, but no uranium. Also the nuclear power plants explode at a ridiculous rate, once one goes up, you don't have time to repair it until it goes again. And even having it converted to oil power, it still goes critical! I think an anti nuclear greenie has had some input into the game....

Yes, I also get the adverts @hucker is talking about. Usually every time I launch steam but I think sometimes even without launching. A pop-up window with some pages of advertised games. Maybe @Tech Osen has them disabled somehow?
Anyhow, if your game isn't updating, and you have purchased it through steam, and you also haven't updated steam in a long time. My first guess would be to update Steam as well.
