I dont necessarily want to start this one, but I was wondering what people would think of it.

The strategy in most games is partially to build as many wonders as possible before the AI.

So, what if in one game you didnt build wonders at all, except for lesser wonders. Concentrate on standard improvements, units. Could you still win? Would this be a challenge at all?

One issue that comes immediately to mind: if you're not building the UN, how to keep the AIs from claiming a diplomatic victory? If you don't take the easy way out and turn off the diplomatic victory option, would you have to be especially nice to the AIs all through the game so they will all vote for you after they build the UN (and you'd still need to be big enough to actually be included in the vote)? I've never used the espionage options much -- would it be feasible to continually sabotage production to keep the UN from ever getting built?

I guess with Lee's game playing for domination on a small map, it will likely be finished long before modern times, so the UN won't be an issue. I'd be tempted to join myself, but I think I'm in enough games already.

Jaffa,

I think it may be a Domination thing.. we would need to be the biggest. Probably we wouldnt even get that far, but yes, we would need to be one of the 2 biggest and have everyone on our side or we would lose.. Thats part of the challenge!
;)
