It's a bit of an anticlimax but I knew that vote was coming and I knew I had enough votes and it was less labor-intensive and messy than going to war with a nuclear power that didn't have oil

. I did have a stack of doom waiting for Wang's coast as well as some ICBMs but didn't end op using any of that due to the aforementioned reason. Not my best score ever, just above my Sury shadow game, which was my lowest winning score so far, but I've learned so much since then. I took out all of Egypt in a couple of turns because when she was finally willing to talk, I was closing in on her last city anyway. It brought my land share to 60%, just short of the 64% necessary for Dom. I was also churning out spaceship parts but Wang would probably have beaten me to that. Anyway, it was a good game.
Looking at the history video, I saw Alex attacked Wang multiple times throughout the centuries, but Wang ended up getting the upper hand in that battle. The war between Giggles and Hatty was also pretty intense with a number of cities switching hands multiple times. Those drawn-out wars helped me a lot in a situation where I had a lot of land available but was starved for cash due to that HA rush, so that when I finally met the rest of the world, I realized I wasn't behind at all. That's probably the reason why my HA gambit succeeded. I know other people had better results with a different approach, but I felt like taking out Pacal made the game easier for me on a meta-strategic level, as semi-iso is complicated. You have to go for Astro, but also have to defend yourself from an opponent that you can't even really tell is plotting. A complex balancing act. Anyway, I hoped you guys enjoyed my take on this map, and thanks everyone who provided feeback!
