WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE NOKA N-GAGE?

*IT PLAYS MP3'S
*IT HAS A TRIBAND PHONE
*MOBILE MESSAGING
*THE N-GAGE GAME DECK FEATURES MULTIPLAYER CAPABILITIES OVER A WIRELESS BLUETOOTH CONNECTION
*WITH SUCH GAMES AS EA FIFA SOCCER 2004, EA NCAA FOOTBALL 2004 AND MLB SLAM! THEY ARE STEPPING IT UP IN THE GAME AREA.
CHECK IT OUT AND LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK

It looks horrible. ;)

As a gaming handheld, it's light-years behind the Nintendo GBA SP, in terms of games availability and looks.

As a handphone, I'd prefer the more normal-looking phones.

As a MP3 player, there're loads of better-looking ones out there.

As a MP gaming handheld, it has possiblities, but I'd feel cautious over the kinds of costs involved. :hmm:

I REALLY LIKE THE NEW NOKIA N-GAGE HANDHELD. IF I HAD ONE I COULD PLAY MANY REALLY COOL GAMES LIKE TOMB RAIDER AND SONIC AND I COULD TALK ON THE PHONE AT THE SAME TIME. IT DOES SEEM A BIT LARGE FOR A MOBILE PHONE BUT WHEN I CONSIDER THAT IT ALSO CAN PLAY MP3S INSTEAD OF A NORMAL RING AND CAN BE USED AS A RADIO IT AMAZES ME HOW SMALL IT REALLY IS. NOKIA LOOKS LIKE THEY HAVE A WINNER ON THEIR HANDS. OR SHOULD I SAY "IN" THEIR HANDS HAHAHAHA.

;)

XIII, I think that there are two points that you're forgetting and are going to make it a super-sales product:

1) It's a Nokia, and that means "cool" for many teenagers in Europe (or at least, in Spain, but I think that in other countries too)

2) Its short-range, free wireless conenction (I think that it's by Bluetooth) to other N-gage machines will make very easy to organize 8-eigth players games in, for instance, the school bus... I foresee many young people buying this product!

Ah, I keep thinking it's some kinda of MP over the phone network device...

But I doubt it'll be too hot here, considering its price - they're already pushing for it big-time in Singapore, but I don't see anyone rushing for it. It's well beyond the means of the average schoolkid - more expensive than some handphones even IIRC. ;)

Good concept, but I think it's trying to do too much for a little device. Might as well slap a better processor in it, and turn it into a PDA.

MP3-player, USB-memory and telephone with SMS for cheap I would buy, but I don't care much for the gaming abilities, that's what I have a computer for...

If it's successful, I guess I'll lose even more on Ericsson, which is another reason I wouldn't buy Nokia products.:)

I think it's a ood product as it is, but I don't need it. And besides, the screen is quite clear and sharp, and you can play Tny Hawk on it. ;) Tony Hawk is a synonyme for cool skate game in Finland, AFAIK. And who wouldn't like a cool skateboarding game woith a MP aspect?

The only real minuses are the microphone and the speaker, as you have to talk into it sideways and the game card changeability, as you have to take the battery away.

@Dreeam: What are they paying you to come advertising for this product? I need a job, can you tell me how to get one? (Mind you, I don't work for free)

To anyone who didnt understand this post: Watch 60 minutes more, or thate some cources in Buisness Marketeering

people at least agree on this. Ok, plus, the fact that their games can be pirated and ported for other mobile phone brands... uhm.. hehehe.

According to the french joke: N-Gage, D-Gage ;)
French speakers will understand.

This post is only to support GK :D

D-gage

Other than that, it seems to me that this is only a scheme to grab some money from people who knows nothing about these kinds of device.

That thing is more expensive than I thought it would be.

You bought an N-Gage, didn't you? </lousy gamefaqs fad>

I heard you have to be in the same room, pretty damn close...you might as well hook up using a GBA connector. Also, there are no current games that support the Bluetooth. And at $300, I highly doubt that there's going to eight people in one school that'll have the N-Gage ;)

I have nothing against the N-Gage except that I detest that Nokia is taking potshots at Nintendo by claiming that people would be embarrased to pull out a "kiddie" GBA on a Friday night. Like holding a taco to your head in a funny way is better. ;)

Not when we're turning this thread into a product-bashing thread, and giving it lots of negative publicity. :p

The GBA SP, as I'm sure you'll know, is way more stylish than the N-Gage, which is much like the old GBA.

I would be embarassed to take out the N-Gage and play. :D
