Hows progress on nomandic gameplay for prehistory? That is exploring stuff and settling down on sedimentary lifestyle?

For now we can pretend, that our tribe is kinda nomandic but never moves too far in Prehistoric era.

There are long term plans for this and every version completes some of the steps towards that plan.
How Prehistoric gameplay will look after this feature gets added? Hunting animals would get you food + hammers as it does now, and it would be easier to bring subdued animal, as you would carry whole everything with you :p
It would be funny, if some player managed to put lowest tier roads and improvements on whole continent before sedimentary lifestyle, if its small enough and research is slow enough.
Also that feature would allow you search of perfect city spot without wasting turns.

Except that is not what nomadic lifestyle is. Almost all nomads have a fixed location or migration path that does not vary much from year to year. In some cases this path may be within just a few kilometers, others over hundreds of kilometers. The only times it does move out of this range is when the environment changes which includes over population.

This is why I believe it could be handled with just a new type of "city" screen and new "settler" unit.

NOTE - need to remember that the code for building settlements using a settler does not keep the information about the settler where the AI is concerned; so some other way is needed to pass the information about the "settler" equipment and knowledge, to the new "city".
