Welcome to CFC! 
Civ 4 is the original version of the game (often called Vanilla).
Warlords is the first expansion to Civ 4 and includes a few more Civs and some scenarios.
Beyond the Sword is the second and final expansion to Civ 4 and includes all the civs in the Vanilla game and Warlords plus a few more and some different scenarios to Warlords.
So if you want to play the full game play Beyond the Sword.
Play Warlords if you want to play one of the Warlords scenarios or want to play a game with someone else that only has Warlords.
Play Vanilla if you want to play someone else who only has Vanilla Civ 4.
