I never play series of CIV before.
I start on CIV5 and I have a question.
When I train acher the cost is 70:hammers:.
How do I know how much :hammers: I have?

Thank you.

You don't 'have' any. You produce a set amount per turn, depending on what your population is working on. Putting citizens on hills or forest will yield production, and building mines and lumber mills increases it even more.

It sounds like you need a lot of help though, I suggest playing through the tutorial to familiarize yourself with game concepts.

How do I know how much I have?
Go into the city screen (double click on one of your cities that isn't a puppet).
There you will see food, production, gold, science culture on the left.
Hold the mouse over them to see popup text for where they come from.

You can change these yields by changing which tiles are worked by the city (you can work one tile for each population point that city has).

To go a little further... at the top right when you have the 'city' screen view p[en, there is a little tab called citizen allocation focus. If you click that, you can see which tiles the 4 'population' you have are working. There is a green icon in the circle next to the hex that shows that tile is being worked.

You can move those icons around here and if you look at the upper left where your gold/production/culture etc. numbers are, you can see them change. Same with whatever your producing, you can see the number of turns change as you move the citizens to different tiles.

Want to build something faster, move a population or two onto a mined hill... need gold faster, keep them on the gold luxuries and trading posts... growth? food of course.
