This is a new 362 x 214 map that I designed for my 1989 scenario. The map focuses on Europe, and includes all of European and part of Asian Russia, the Middle East, North Africa, the North Atlantic, and the eastern half of North America.

The map could be used for World Wars, Dark Ages with Scandinavian exploration, or really anything that includes these locations. There's plenty of sailing room, too. With a little editing, you could also expand it either into the Arctic circle or further down into Africa.

There are no resources, rule changes, or starting locations, so you can either randomly generate these with the editor or start modding.

Nice. Do you have one with realistic resources too, or did you simply randomize them?

Looks awesome!

AnthonyBoscia, this is a very interesting map. :goodjob:

Is there now a version of this map existing with preplaced cities?

Thanks, everybody!

Civinator: I left the map blank because I wanted to leave it open for any use. No point in placing a lot of cities for the wrong era.

The only version with cities is one the I'm using for my scenario. It's very specifically designed for my needs, and not optimized to best use the terrain. For example, cities in Germany are not quite where they should be because I had to accomodate all the international forces there. Also, the current set-up requires the use of the Syn/Knuckles editor, and maxes out at 553 pre-placed cities. With the Knuckles EXE, more cities can be built by the player during the game.

So if you like, I can attach my current biq (which is utterly unplayable right now), which you could then import the map and cities in the editor to a new Biq. Then you can edit from there. I'd be glad to do this if it will help. In the development thread for the scenario is a screenshot of the F3 military advisor mini-map, which shows a fairly recent picture of how cities are laid out.

Thank you very much, I would appreciate this a lot. :)

AnthonyBoscia, thank you very much for your service. :thanx:

I have downloaded your map with the cities and will do some experiments with it. Especially I want to see, how the AI acts on a sea that is mostly encircled with land, so that the sea is something like a "big lake" in the middle of the map. The other thing that interests me, is how the AI will do seatrade in the El-Justo-Manner (AoI) on such a big map, when the sea is "encircled" with land.

The map could be very interesting for WW II scenarios, too. :)
