Not playing until patched.

if i change this

<Row Name="ALIEN_SPAWN_COLOSSAL_START_TURN_MIN">
<Value>500</Value>

it means worms won't appear until turn 500 am i right?

Siegeworms only have one movement, your units generally have at least two. So staying away from them is very easy. Unless you do the mistake of moving units two hexes at the time into the fog of war or unexplored terrain.

i don't care their still annoying i'm tired of having to deal with them at all. i want to expand in peace.

Okay, guess we don't want the same game then. I think expansion is allready way too easy, getting a start in alien infested territory is basically the only challenge to REX.

I'd rather have the siege worm evolve into getting 2 movement points mid-game.

their a nuisance. i get 4+ near me nearly every damn game now when i kill one another shows up almost straight away. their making expanding quickly slow and annoying. i just don't want them in the game any more.

Are you playing on frenzied alieans? Ive platen three games. In standaard settings can came across one worm every time. I tend to ignore it, maybe killing them brings more?

Can smoelen conform is there is à relationship between the worms appearance and killing aliens?

Not directly by killing, but yes, there's a relationship: If you get them to become orange/red in Vanilla, then more siegeworms will spawn and the normal aliens will change their spawn-ratio so that less wolf beetles and WAY more of the more dangerous aliens will spawn.

The game really misses a lower-tier native sea creature.

I get that the krakens are there to discourage you from going into deep ocean (since you're no longer restricted by technology to go into ocean tiles) but there are too many. Sea dragons on the other hand, are supposed to be a general threat but are too powerful.

The whole thing would work a lot better if krakens were rarer, a bit like siege worms, sea dragons only go in deep oceans to kill off early explorers and something else, something weaker fills the "harass coastal waters" niche.

I could agree with that.

I love SciFi, I love Civ5, so I thought this game would be a natural for me. But I couldn't even get though one game, I'm not sure quite why.

Some of it is that I wanted to explore a new planet but knowing where everyone is takes away some of that (more like EU IV where I found the fog of war thing stupid since we already know what the map looks like), in real life if we were colonizing the planet we would have the whole thing mapped before we set foot on it anyway so this game isn't either SciFi in that sense or Civ5 in giving me my exploration.

But that can't be all, I think maybe I'm just not finding anyone to relate to. It's been said the factions all act the same, I think they ARE all the same--heck too me they even sound the same. And as cute as the graphics are something about the game seems sort of lifeless I guess. Hard to put into words but it sure doesn't grab me the way Civ5 vanilla did right from my first turn.

And even with changing the font size I still find a lot of the user interface hard to see and read it is not at all friendly to a 4k monitor and the game isn't interesting enough to switch back to 1080p just to play it.

Maybe I'll go back to GCIII where I can explore unknown space and meet intelligent aliens. In the meanwhile I've gone back to Civ5 and look forward to Civ6 and maybe like the OP I'll try this again after a major update, in the meanwhile when Civ6 comes out I will try to wait for a sale before plunking down my $$$.

I could try some mods, but of course that kills achievements and though I didn't used to pay any attention to achievements now I find it fun to see what I get without trying for them but mods kill that bit of fun.

I never learn, after getting all the Civilizations from 1 to 5 and there extra`s you would think I would have learnt NOT to get it (CivBE) in Vanilla format and wait until at least two Expansions have been released!

But it`s the pro`s and Con`s again, Pro`s I can play it now and watch how it gets better over time, the Con`s the game is not what it should be and your paying top price for it.

But I must say I am more disappointed with BE than any of the others, I would have expected more from Firaxis by now, tut, tut.

Now I know they WILL make it good but still :(
