Not receiving "reply to post" email notification

I'm not receiving any "reply to post"email notiification's today at all. I thought that it was a little odd that when I start outlook express it said that there were no new messages, so I went and had a look at a post that I started yesterday entitiled "The Egyptian quiz" in the history forum and there were about 5 or 6 replies, the same with another post as well.

I know that there has been server probs later so I'm not sure if this maybe another upgrade glitch or not.
I was also modifying my security levels yesterday so I dont know if that has anything to do with it at all either?
The only other thing that I can think of is that my pc is punishing me cause I was on it last night from 8pm till 8am this morning.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I received my first email notifications last night and immediately became annoyed at the constant emails, so I turned it off. Now I am not receiving updates to new threads I have posted in when I look in my Control Panel. I assume this is because of the server glitches, but just wanted to make sure.

Edit- Now this thread appears in my list of subscribed threads, but a bunch of OT threads I posted in an hour or so ago do not. Anyone have an idea?

And now it seems to be fixed, though the threads I posted in during the "downtime" do not appear. Weird.

Ok, here is my last question: If I turn Email Notification off, does that mean that updates are not reported in my control panel?

If you turn it off, you will only get notifications when you manually subscribe to a thread by clicking the "Receive updates to this thread" link. Those threads you subscribed to will still show up in the control panel.

Okay, thanks Thunderfall. So if I don't want to get hundreds of notification emails, I should create a filter to automatically send them into the trash? Any idea why email notification all of a sudden started working for me? Was that something fixed in the forum maintainance? I know, I know, I said I wouldn't ask any more questions.

For the first time ever e-mail notification is working for me. I got 34 e-mails in the course of 5 hours. I haven't decided whether this is a good thing or not.

Yes, or just filter them somewhere convenient.

The fact you can't turn them off while still being auto-subscribed means filtering is the best way of keeping track and not having your inbox go crazy.
