More of a question on how to fix an annoyance: suppose at the end of a turn, you finish a couple of units, and at the same time, problems (pollution, starvation, whatever) pop up in a few other places. The software whips through them so fast you better be damn good at remembering at a glance what's going on, or you're in trouble. Is there any way to slow this down so you can address the concerns a bit more rationally and have a shot at dealing with them all?

I use MapStat, a user created utility program, to help find such places.

Pollution cannot be predicted or prevented but MapStat will tell you which city is is close to. Starvation can be seen during the turn. IIRC, the name or size of the city goes Red to indicate the problem. Cities that riot can be prevented and MapStat can tell you which cities had a happiness change (good or bad).

MapStat is part of CRPSuite (Civ Replay Suite) and is in the Utility Program section of Creation/Customization forum.

Turner has a link to it in his sig.

CAII will put up an alert to things like pollution. You just click on the # and it takes you to the spot. Very useful on large or better maps.
