I am wondering if there is a mod or set of mods that permit..
- a general journal to record miscellaneous notes (or even story idea fragments etc)
- a way to record small notes right on the map?
+ a neat idea would be a feature to expire a note after X turns go by

Having small kids and a crazy job, I find not a lot of time for gaming; but here or there I want to kick off a Civ game.. but as well know a Civ match can take quite a long time, and ends up being many many many short sessions for me. I often can't recall the context.. why I was doing what it appears I'm doing, etc.

Maybe its just a bad idea, but strikes me as it _might_ be cool to have the note taking options so I could reord. here is the main front line, and here is the main production points, and over there is a quest I'm working on, and this timeframe is the goal... and so on.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

jeff

Sorry, noob mistake :) Thanks for the move, and thanks to the mods in general for running a tight ship :)

Sounds like the map pins system. Check around the lower-left corner of the screen. There are some bugs with it, last I checked, but it sounds like what you're looking for.

As for the journal idea, you can always use pencil and paper. Or you can set the game to windowed mode and use a text editor.

Oooh, I'll take a look; maybe I completely missed something.. thanks!

Sure, bbut thought there might be a more integrated solution; always struck me as an obvious thing but likely only to me :) I should make a mod myself if there isn't one, but never enough spare cycles in the day :/
