Odd problem with my own units attacking each other?

Last night I was finishing my first real game and I was doing fine in small war with the roughly equal german opponent. I get the message that the game will force resignation at 2050. I think the message showed up around 2030 or so. Well after that happened my best industrial city started having its defending units attack my other units that were travelling from the center of my empire towards the frontlines to fight. It was like the city defenders thought my own troops were trying to invade it or something. I'm still super new to the game [only bought it at a Wal-Mart while I was waiting to get my oil changed over the weekend :) ]. Is this something that has a reason behind it or is it just a weird bug? Anyone else ever had it happen? I was thinkng it was like a revolt or something after I launched an ICBM from that city on the Germans but I had full control of the city, its people and production.

Very odd indeed!

My workers are getting killed by my own units. I have started a thread about it 2 weeks ago. And I realised that some people are having the same problem.
But no one knows how to fix it. It is a bug. Waiting for the next patch.
You are lucky. At least your units can defend them but my workers can't. :D

that would be the walmart edition 1.17 patch, wouldn't it? the "worker relations patch"? just kidding

My workers started storming the capital after I decided to nuke some enemies, I don't think it's a bug I think it's intentional. It was a riot to see dudes with shovels being gunned down by the Marines :)

its a bug... try to reinstall your game without deleting the saved game, and then i think it will fix... also are you playing the 1,17f patch?

lol that sounds like a civil war or a dictatorial despotic regime :) :D

That should be because of misunderstanding of democracy. My units thought that under democracy, they can do what they want including killing each other. :D
I should go back to despotism.

I made some testing... only one unit was going bersek, a mech. infantery. I was in democracy and at peace - so it's not a "war protest" hidden feature.
Any unit trying to enter the city (settlers on auto and a few old units I used for testing purpose) had to fight my bersek unit.
The bug stopped when I moved my bersek unit.

BTW, I got a Great Leader when a swordman bravely died fighting my rebel mech. infantery

Oh, and I'm using the mac version, patch 1.17g (same as 1.17f for PC + some mac-specific bug fixes)

That Great Leader was worth loosing a few workers though, so I'm not complaining ;)
