Hello, first post here, I generally just browse the forums and read for tidbits of information.

Today, after several repeated crashes at the same exact spot, I decided to make an account and ask about -

About the game -

Playing as Shaka, 13 Civ's, 30 City States, Standard Speed, Huge Map, Terra - for about 450 turns I've been pushing west pillaging and marauding most cities in sight, and have amassed quite a bit of territory, population, let's just say the game is vast and loaded with tons of information that has accrued over the course of 450 turns.

Anyway, I find myself at a point in the game, it constantly crashes at the same spot. I launch a sneak attack on my good friend Washington, as he constantly makes attempts at flipping my city state allies. But regular war is a bit dry, my units are lvl 8-9 with maybe a dozen upgrades. It's time to test a nuclear weapon out for the first time in my civ life! 350 hours played but I never had the opportunity to try one of these bad boys out.

A smile stretches across my face as I throw 3 nuclear missiles between 2 of America's cities, one of which was his capitol, Atlanta - Washington was already mine from a war 100 turns ago. To my glee, both San Francisco and Atlanta vanish off the map upon arrival of my third missile. Now we can expand westward!

But then the tragedy occurs. As my 450 turn game slowly goes from civ to civ, it lands onto America, who again is missing 2 cities that were there literally a turn ago.

5-6 times, I've replayed this turn the same way, and every single time the game crashes as soon as it hit's Washington. Switching between direct x 9/ 10/11 doesn't appear to save me from crashing.

Now I don't know if it's because I wiped 2 cities out immediately, and I'm going to replay my next turn without decimating my good friend George. However, I'm reading about some archaeological related crash, and it got me thinking that perhaps he's completing a site somewhere, and sparing the town won't have an effect on the result.

Regardless, I'll try this next turn out differently, and no blow up 2 of his cities, and see if I can get past the AI turns without another crash -

I'm like 2 turns from what I think is my first complete domination victory on a huge map, and it would be very disheartening to lose the progress =\

No matter what save you game and put it in the bug forum, it might help others, including Firaxis, figure out what is happening and how to fix it.

Mmm Alright, interestingly enough after 5-6 crashes, I managed to get to the next turn without a crash, after doing 2 distinct things.

#1 - I did not send 3 nukes to America's capitol + side city, effective erasing 2 cities off the map.

#2 - An artifact that completed in my territory that I was sending back as an artifact was instead made into a landmark.

These 2 actions changed what was a perpetual crash fest at turn 450 into a playable game. As for the bug forum, I presume it's the official Civ site, not this one?
