The first days of United Fanatica are shrouded in mystery. The oldest legends and myths speak of a group of nomads who, although skilled in arts such as the shaping and forming of bronze, spent their lives hunting the buffalo that grazed the plains along the Great Water. One day - contemporary scholars believe, based on astrological records, that this day was December 7, 4000 BC these nomads were visited by a group of approximately thirty-five travelers. The travelers called themselves Fanatics and declared that they would lead the nomads to greatness. Recently discovered ancient texts imply that the Fanatics arrived from across the world and could communicate without speaking; these texts have become a source of strident debate among scholars throughout United Fanatica.
Some of the tribal chiefs were skeptical and challenged the Fanatics on their claims. The leader of the Fanatics, known only as Duck, told the nomads that by travelling to the south, along the Great Water, that their glorius future would begin. The chiefs, persuaded by Ducks prophecies, led the nomads to the south and discovered a village. These villagers celebrated the arrival of the nomads and gave them a gift of horses. The nomads, amazed by these events, entrusted their future to Duck and the Fanatics.
The nomads wished to settle with the villagers, but the Fanatics told them that their days as wanderers had not yet ended. Duck directed them to march southeast for twenty years, until they reached a coastline. Duck (now proclaimed Ducky I) told the nomads to found their city: Olympia. The nomads were relieved by the end of their journey, but named the adjacent body of water Bedouin Bay, in honor of their nomadic roots.
The next several centuries were a time of exploration and discovery for the people of Olympia. The village horsemen rode to east, discovering another ancient village. These villagers, skilled with the bow and arrow, gave the Olympians a cohort of archers under the command of Robin Hood. Under the direction of Unknown Soldier, the archers marched to the southeast, while the horsemen continued their ride to the northeast. One year, the report back from these horsemen indicated that suitable locations for a new city had been found. The Olympians were excited by this prospect, and the descendants of the Fanatics (who had become firmly entrenched as the ruling class in Olympia) instructed them that a new settlement would be constructed at the appropriate place as soon as a sufficient population was available.
Meanwhile, in Olympia, the people studied religion and law. Sixchan had told them that understanding these principles would allow them to eventually understand the divine nature of the Fanatics and to proclaim Ducky I as their king.
This era closed when, in the second millenium of Olympias existence, reports from the explorers indicated that the full extent of the Home Island had been discovered. A new city, TheHolyDuckPond, was built to the north of Olympia in 2450 B.C., the Fanatics ordered Robin Hood to lead his archers to defend this new settlement. Now, the people realized that they were no longer merely citizens of Olympia; they were citizens of the Empire of United Fanatica.
