Old and Ancient Cognomens

Any tips on how to get these?

The Old +40 Legitimacy The game tracks how long each ruler is in power. You get +100 points for each year your current leader reigns. You get this cognomen when you accumulate 4000 points.

The Ancient +50 Legitimacy As above for “The Old” but you get this cognomen when you accumulate 5000 points.

At first glance, this seems pretty straight forward. The leader must reign for 40 years (for Old) and 50 years (for Ancient).

The problem is in the way that the Cognomens system works. The leader progresses from one to the next (i.e. +10, +20, etc.) up to +100. Once a leader has attained a Cognomen of a given level, they can only earn another Cognomen if it is a higher level.

This means that earning The Old or The Ancient effectively requires a player to not do anything useful for 40 or 50 turns!!!

It becomes tedious to get then!
But I guess it's consistent with the title. Anything useful would get you another title than just characterizing your age.

An alternative could be to base this on the age, something like 80yo for the Old and that it would be a higher Cognomen than most.
Or something a bit more complex, to have multiple cognomens at the same time: The Old Conqueror or The Ancient Wise.

not sure that's enough? you'd have to not accomplish anything good, but nothing bad either? like if you lost many units, wouldn't you get a bad cognonem that would precede The Old/The Ancient?
the solution would be to do nothing at all but you'd risk being invaded

Weird, but flavourful!

Q: "What happened during their reign?"
A1: "They got old."
A2: "They got really old. Ancient even."
