old GOTM and current version

Hello !

I'm new to Civ5 and GOTM and have a first question :
Will I face problems if I try to play older GOTM for fun with the current version of the game ? (Let' say not older than G&K GOTM).

I don't want to start a game and being blocked by some weird things.

I do not really know the answer to this as I have not tried it. I hope someone will answer that has tried. I know that some people have played older GOTM, with the correct version of the software, and I have not heard of any issues.

I don't think so. I've played a couple of old (G&K) GOTM with the current version of game and have no problems.

The only thing to watch for are the DLC GotM's if you don't own all of the DLC. Otherwise, if there is a problem it should present itself quickly by telling you the save won't load. I don't think you will run into a problem mid-game that results in a waste of your time. The last big patch was in early November so any saves before then shouldn't cause crashes but those GotM's might play a little differently as those saves were created without the fixes from the patch.

I am a lurker that enjoys playing and replaying through the old GOTMs to comparing my progress with the after reports. TSG 41, 43, 47, and 53 all played perfectly fine in the newest patch, so that should bode well for OP.

Note, however, that some GOTM's may be easier or harder than when they were initially released, based on patch changes that have occurred since then.
