Hi. I recently discovered game of the month, and it looks pretty like it could be a fun learning tool. I just have a question though. Is there a place where we can download old games of the month? Obviously, I wouldn't be able to submit them, but they'd still be fun to play. Thanks.

Hi TheLlama,

Welcome to GoTM. :wavey:

You can find the old GOTM's HERE.

You call up the game you are looking for from the drop down menu. Above the results, you will find the World Builder file. You can call this up as a Scenario under single player.

It is best to use the World Builder file as the original downloads require the HoF Mod and this has changed over time as the Mod changed. I believe you can use the World Builder file with any version of the game.

Have fun and good luck!

Alright, thanks a lot guys. I look forward to playing these!
btw, the spoiler threads are still available if you wish to compare how you did. You may have to use the thread display options to see them all. Change it to "Beginning" and they should all appear.

Again, have fun!

In a similar vein is there any way you can load old pre-1.74 GOTM games?

I have a lot of 1.61 games I like to look over sometimes, and there isn't any problem loading generic games with the 1.74 patch. But GOTM games are protected and I get an error and then a crash.

Obviously I can dual install, or revert to the old patch just to load games, but I wondered if there was a more elegant solution.

You can play the games by downloading the World Builder file and using "Play a Scenario" from the single player menu.

To get the World Builder file, click here. Then select the game you wish to play and the results will come up. Under the game title, you will see "Download the World Builder File" and the file should be available to you.

You can play the World Builder file under any mod, or no mod.

Have fun!

Thanks I will have to try that. I have been itching to give the Roman always war game another go.

Thanks - but surely that only works for games you haven't already played? My issue is not the same as the OP; rather it's that sometimes I want to look over old GOTM games I have played to see how many bpt I had with various approaches etc.

That is a bit more difficult atm. You must have the correct version and HoF Mod installed to view them as far as I know.
