OK so I read Wikipedia (yeah I'm not a true historian) and the story is consistent with Wikipedia.
Hasdrubal was 2 years older than Hannibal and was assassinated at 42 (when Hannibal was 40). So the text seems right.
Hasdrubal alive when we start playing however is making little sense, but it's a nice gameplay addition (just as all characters being younger).
To gain a bit of consistency with the text, the character could be altered into someone else. The French pages of Wikipedia mention a sister "Salambaal" but not the other language pages so I don't know if it's founded. She could be a sibling offered at starting point instead of the deceased Hasdrubal.
