Would it be possible to construct a gotm game where you got one wonder at the start of the game, and could build no more for the rest of the game? I remember something like this some time ago. It would be interesting to see who picks what and how they do.

It was an effort to set up as I recall -- I think that Starlifter had a hand in it (we had a choice of the 7 ancient wonders) -- might be different with all 28 to choose from. But if we could have the UN, then there would be no need for Marco's; Similar thought for JSB & Oracle...

Now it might make a difference if we ran a poll for contenders (say top five or so) and tried that. Also it would make a difference if the remaining wonders were disabled -- and not available at all -- might be a few Apollo choosers...

Might also make a difference if we were constrained to a particular type of government -- say Fundy or Demo -- or perhaps had the choice -- Game A was Fundy & Mike's (or Sun Tsu, or Leo's); Game B was Demo & Mike's (or Leo's, or Shake's, etc.)

We had a game where you could pick a Wonder to start with and then play the game regularly going forward.

GOTM 19 - a pretty nice starting location, if I recall correctly. Choose any one of the 7 Ancient Wonders.

Making no other Wonders be available would require modifing the game files.

Or self-imposed rules, much easier to implement and enforce. An issue would be what to do with captured AI cities with Wonders.

Destroy them -- go for a game with nothing but red & white wonder colors on the f7 key (I think that Kev would like it.)

The players could build Darwin's, Apollo & Manhatten in small cities, then disband the cities -- similarly, build an SSC then dismantle it towards the end game.

Another thought along similar lines is: what could be the fewest points awarded for a won game? Could we get to zero or even a negative total (with pollution), and still "win"?
