Online Hotseat mod

Ok so I know this is probably impossible but I wish a mod could be created that allows online Hotseat games. I.e. 2 or more humans on one PC and internet connection vs 2 or more humans on another PC and internet connection.

It is extremely difficult to find like-minded players online and most people quit part way through games. My wife and I like playing marathon with 8 Ages of Pace. We play around 2-3 hours a day and 1 game can literally take a week or more. My cousins in a different city are the only other people I know that are interested in this format. So it would be amazing to have a 4-player game with them online. Even if we were rarely free to play at the same time as them, we could just play single turns at a time and save it. It would be like how people used to play chess on paper via the post.

Anyway, that's my dream. In the meantime we'll have to keep playing hotseat against useless AI or playing rushed online games against quitters.

What you are really asking for is "Pitboss" like we had in Civ4. Were a host ran a mini server that people could login and out to do there turn, and each turn would roll over depending on the setting used but 24hrs being a normal standard.

I do hope this is something Firaxis will eventually make for civ6, it is much better than PBEM.

Wait, in Pitboss, would it be possible e.g. for my wife and I to use the same PC but play as 2 different civs?

Yes in Civ4 pitboss the Admin sets pw up for the different civs, you and your wife would just log into different civs in the game
