Online IQ Test

The IQ test was too hard for me :dubious:

So, have you heard the one about the funny flirt? You probably have, because it's you! Being a Silly Flirt, you know that laughter is often the quickest way to someone's heart. Your conversations with "potentials" are always peppered with the latest jokes and catchphrases, and you'll do anything - including humiliating yourself - to get the object of your affection to crack a smile.
That cannot be right. I am too serious to be silly.
Just make sure that your quest for a laugh doesn't blind you to other flirting approaches. You don't want to be stuck in "pal" purgatory. Sometimes a soft brush on the arm or a lingering look scores more points than even the funniest story. A little directness could take you a long way. Still, until you're ready to expand your act, it's great to keep them creasing up.
What is wrong with dating pals? Brush of the arm, what? I am not some creepy bug, and it's called swooning, not creasing.

Why are they insulting me?

Does anyone know of a accurate, accepted online free IQ test??

International High IQ Society: They will provide you with your results and try to sell you T-Shirts and novelty coffee mugs if you are among the top 5% of the population ;). The tests are rumored to be accurate, though :).

Except everyone comes out in the top 5% of the nation ;)

Which test are we supposed to take? I took the Classical test and got...

Your IQ score is 142

This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others.

Your Intellectual Type is Visionary Philosopher. This means you are highly intelligent and have a powerful mix of skills and insight that can be applied in a variety of different ways. Like Plato, your exceptional math and verbal skills make you very adept at explaining things to others — and at anticipating and predicting patterns.

The Tickle-test is utter bull. Sorry to break it to you, guys, but it usually gives scores 20 or 30 too high. There's no time limit, which also makes it uncomparable to other tests, as time stress is an essential part of an IQ-test.

Does anyone know of a accurate, accepted online free IQ test??

If it gives scores 20 or 30 higher than what they actually are...well, then I ain't as smart as my momma thinks I is...

I took the Super IQ test as well and got one point lower...

your Super IQ score is 141

Your overall intelligence quotient is the result of a scientifically-tested formula based on how many questions you answered correctly. But it's only part of what we learned about you from your answers on the test. We also determined the way you process information.

The way you think about things makes you an Intuitive Investigator. This means you have multiple talents and can do anything you set your mind to. You're able to detect numerical patterns easily and are able to grasp the true complexity of the world, both in its details and in a more abstract form. You've got a sharp logical mind and are adept at using words to get even a difficult point across. The combination of all these things makes you truly brilliant.

How did we determine that your thinking style is that of an Intuitive Investigator? When we examined your test results further, we analyzed how you scored on 8 dimensions of intelligence: spatial, organizational, abstract reasoning, logical, mechanical, verbal, visual and numerical. The 3 dimensions you scored highest on combine to make you an Intuitive Investigator. Only 6 out of 1,000 people have this rare combination of abilities.

Here you go cierdan. It is a proper IQ test, I think :)

I must confess that I am too tired (it's 12:45am) to answer the first question

Normally time is limited for a usual IQ test. The fact there's no limits to answer each question reduces its credibility.

I've done several IQ tests on-line in the past. I tend to have better scores when there are in French than when there are in English. That's usually because all the questions related to language are harder when you're a non-native since you can't apprehend language nuances as good as a native speaker. For Ciceronian's test, I've got 132. Though the time was illimited and the questions sounded relatively easy.

Yeah, I have had to concede points because I couldn't remember what denominations of US currency existed (penny, nickel, dime, quarter - but my mind blanked at the time of the test). It is supposed to measure your ability to calculate, not your nationality!

I got 235. That's out of 500 right? Not very good... :(

Nobody said:
i got 138 in the tickle one and 125 in the high IQ one

Which one of the high IQ tests did you take? There's like 5 different ones.

i took the general one
the highst one i think i could give it ago but it looks boring, the riddles (not really) are fun, i like the F one

There is NO accepted online test, and there can't ever be.
Still, there are huge differences in the quality of questions - but the score will never be even remotely accurate.

1) No time limit.
2) Remember, it's a quotient - how on Earth do you expect to get something like an applicable 'mean'?
3) People with a standardized Binet IQ of less than 90 hardly participate in such tests. So, low scores can only be predicted.
4) Any IQ test that doesn't explain how it increments is not trustworthy: The test gives your relative standings in standard deviations - but, if +1SD means +15 or +10 on the scale needs to be mentioned. Both are used in reliable testings, +10 is the scale for the Intelligence Structure Test IST, IMHO the most convincing one.

Of course, those online tests are usually deliberately too high - so it's safe to assume they'd all use the 15 intervall ;).

Now, those tests could do something useful - they could calculate your score on the basis of all submitters, not a hypothetical Average Joe.
But obviously, if you score a 80, you won't buy the T-Shirt or mug .

Technically, ANY IQ test - whether online or in real life - is inaccurate. You can't judge (and rank!) people's intelligence by such a quick and limited method. IMO, the way to know how intelligent a person is is NOT by reading a silly score card giving you a number, but by actually TALKING to them and getting to know them. ;)

Obviously I am also aware of the fact that these IQ tests are extremely unreliable. I posted the link to see what others would get and whether their results would be way above what one would expect. Most of the people who posted their scores scored on average about 2 standard deviations above mean, one standard deviation being 15. Being 2 standard deviations above the mean puts you in the top 2.5% of the population. Even though (judging by their posts) I am sure that many regular CFC posters have above average IQs, such a result is absurd. Another possibility would be that those who scored average or lower were to ashamed to post their results.

Before posting the link I thought that my result was actually fairly reasonable, as I estimated my IQ to be around 130 or slightly above. My type, analytical mathematician also reflects my prime abilities. But some results seem to be way off, such as Lord Parkin's 157  That would make him outdo Darwin or Mozart in IQ. :crazyeye:
