Had a quick search and didnt see anything. You guys know Civ 5 has been announced for onlive? :p :)

It's a game streaming service.
The publishers/developers can make a contract with onLive, and they'll put the games on their servers. You can then make an abo at onlive, and they will stream the game on your machine, so that you theoretically can play the newest games, even if your PC is years old, because everything is computed on their servers (prerequisite: highspeed internet, for sure; onLive is currently AFAIK only available in USA, Canada + GB, but will expand to continental europe in this year, IIRC).

But no, haven't heard anything.
I guess it would also violate Steams terms of use, or so.

Isn't that a bit contradictory? Only available in the USA, but requiring highspeed internet?
(I don't know about Canada or GB, but the internet connections in the US are 'famous' for being relatively slow compared to other countries)

The main issue is that i assume to play it through this service you will need to buy it again.

I am going to try the site though purely for the first game for £1 offer.

Can't speak for speed, but value-wise, Canada is worse, at least comparing higher-density areas.
