Open game: Civ IV BTS custom game huge terra 18 civs Prince/Roosevelt

Turn 15:

I explored a bit more to the east and found more tundra hills. Started to move the grunt back towards Washington, as we are 5 turns away from hunting and from finishing that work boat. I'm going to build a scout next. Where should I send him? Could that land in the NW be connected through the South?

What do you think?

I hope that nasty canine creature does'nt kill my grunt! It would make a nice pet though... Perhaps we get some praerie dogs later? Hmm? :)

Don't build a scout.. it is useless on this land mass.. just build another workboat...

Like, you mean for scouting? Hmm?

Turn 20:

We got hunting.

Going to the wheel next. Mining after that and the n bronze working.

Now, to build or not to build that is the question... the work boat is done.

No for making another fishing net... You need to hook up the seafood(work the seafood at all times...). Not much to scout on this land map... Why do you need wheel before BW? You are not in a hurry to build roads anywhere but you want your worker to be able to chop when you build the first one...

Changed my mind, mining takes only 25 turns, wher the wheel takes 30. So mining it is.

You are propably right about that workboat. Going to build another one. Now, since Washington is still size one and it currently takes it 46 turns to grow, since we put that worked tile to the forest, I'm going to build a fishing net on the nearest clams and change to work that tile, until we grow to size 2. Then work that forest tile again. This will also get us mining more quickly.

Now what do we do whith that other work boat?

Very well my Minister of Internal Affairs. :)

I do thy bidding. Build another work boat to hook up that crabs. And beeline towards BW. Do you agree with my choice of trying to build the stonehenge?

Turn 32:

Charlemagne founded Buddhism on turn 28 and adopted it asap. Washington is now size 2 and I changed it to work that 2H+1F forest tile. The governor keeps insisting on working that cow tile. I have to speak with him about his misconductions. :)

Work boat in 16 turns, mining in 9 turns. Washington will grow again in 24 turns.

Healthiness 8, Happiness 5.

Turn 41:

Discovered the secrets of mining. Going for Bronzeworking. Takes 42 turns, so I changed Washington to work that crabs tile for 2F+2C. This cut the research time to 37 turns. The work boat now takes 21 more turns, but washington will grow now in 11 turns and can again work that 1F+2H tile.

Someone founded Hinduism on turn 35. Well so much for my strategy for an early religion... But we propably get Buddhism from Charlie the Wimp... err Great! ;)

Perhaps Jerrymander was right - I did overplan this thing... Hmm... I need to meditate on this one.

Oh, and by the way my spies informed me that Charlie was researching on fishing, which he will get in 4 turns.

Turn 52:

Wahington is now size 3 and I just had my governor whipped 100 times for insisting on working that cow tile. I manually changed it to work that other clam tile, as it speeded up research to 22 turns. Work boat now takes 10 more turns. Washington will grow again in 20 turns. After the next fishing nets, that will drop to 5 turns (10 turns for fishing boat + 10 turns / 2 for +2F from clams - 15 turns total).

Oh, and btw Charlie was ranked as forgotten on the Wealthiest civ charts. :)

Turn 62:

Washington finished the work boat. Whats next? Worker (24 turns before hooking up crabs)? Bronze working is 12 turns away. Washington grows to size 4 in 10 turns.

Turn 62:

Washington finished the work boat. Whats next? Worker (24 turns before hooking up crabs)? Bronze working is 12 turns away. Washington grows to size 4 in 10 turns.

Oh, btw: Charlie is researhing archery, which he will get in 8 turns. The reason for this might be that he is a protective leader and gets bonuses to archery units. I don't think he is going for war. Now that my initial research plans have been scrambled by heretics, what should we do after Bronze Working? Hmm?

I started building a worker. The Unholy Roman Empire discovered that SHSH (Super Healthy Special Herb). Darn. I wish that the fist of retribution will hammer those heretics soon! :)

Turn 73:

Got bronze working. Charlie is researching agriculture, so I think he's got some good land over to the east. Checked his traits from the reference charts and he IS aggressive... Hmm... What should we research next?

Perhaps animal husbandry for those cows my governor insists on using?

Any suggestions? Don't die on me now - the game has only started!

Ok, I think I'm holding a 10 min. break here, while you ministers are dozing it off... :(

In the meanwhile in your slumber, try to come up with an idea what to research next, plz. And are we going to be cruel slavers?

10 mins. are up and my ministers have deserted me. :(

Now, this is what I am going to do:

adopt slavery, research animal husbandry, chop another workboat after worker is done, then build a scout to look around a bit more, then a warrior and then a settler for that land to the east. And THEN stonehenge!!!

Cool idea to play a map with so many civs :), but maybe it would be wise to play some turns, post them all in one post, then give people the time to comment your game and give suggestions. After that play the next round etc.

Ok, that's what I'm going to do anyway.

Turn 99:

I got animal husbandry and I'm now going for sailing. I want to settle that land to the in the NW corner. This landmass is a nono. I finished another workboat in washington by chopping a forest. Currently building a scout to find out what's int the south and in the east. Now I'm going to chop another worker and then chop a monument. That will allow Washington's borders to expand so we can chop the rest of the forests to the south. Then a settler and then a warrior.

The settler will build a city to the east, right next to Washington. I'm afraid I have to forgo Stonehenge as it is already turn 99 and someone is prolly building it and will finish it in a couple of turns. By then we will have sailing and we can build yet another settler.

Now I do want the pyramids, so after sailing we go for the Oracle gambit - it is the only way. So first The Wheel, then Pottery, then Meditation and Priesthood. Build the Oracle and get Metal Casting. Build a Forge and a GE.
Build the Pyramids.

It would really help us if Charlemagne Would give us Buddhism for a Temple and a Priest for a Great Prophet. I think Charlemagne has a coastal city, because he researched fishing. So perhaps when we get Sailing Buddhism will spread to our cities. Could also try to build a road there - I think he's quite close.

We got horses but no copper, so we will have to do with chariots by the time of the barbarian onset occurs (is it still 1500 B.C. on Prince?).

Charlemagne is 3 turns away from Agriculture.
