Order of Attacks

I just got Conquest 1.0 just recently (from CivIII 1.27f). From the advance menu, I could use automatic bombardments for Bomber, artilery, battleships etc which is very useful. Unfortunately, the automatic bombard doesnt properly design. I had the following units attacking a city - jets, bombers, ships, and artilery). The orders is always as follow
1. Jet fighters
2. bombers
3. artileries
4. ships (battleships, cruisers)
As the results, if the units all had 1HP, 1pop, and no more building the artileries would be useless)

what the order should be :
1. artileries (reduce pop. and enemy unit to 1)
2. Jet fighers (can destroy enemy fighter before bombers or kill unit)
3. ships (at least can kill a ships if its inside a city)
4. Bombers (kill the units).

The samething with workers. It would save a lot of time (since I enjoyed playing of huge map and bunch of workers), if the workers which are not on road, got the turn first before workers which are on road. let the workers building road first. Although, sometime, the workers which are not on road got the first turns.

Well, its just my expectation. When I played CivIII 1.07f, 1.27f the game was getting slower. And conquest is much slower (lucky I got 2 computers P4, so the otherone still playing CivIII 1.27 while I was enjoying learning conquest)
