I have just noticed a funny thing about Orthus' Axe.
I was lucky enough to kill Orthus with 11% winning chance fight playing Grigori.
I gave the axe to one of my early heroes and went to war with a stack of about ten units.
I won the first fight with axed hero and noticed that before attacking with another unit I was able to take the axe from the hero.
So basically you can use the axe with every unit in a stack in a single turn.
Seem like an exploit to me to say the least.
I am playing Tholal's More naval AI mod, so I am not sure if it works in other versions.

Any comments anyone?

If you had tried to take the axe with a third unit, I bet it wouldn't have worked. A given unit can either take or give up the axe on any turn, but not both. So it's not as bad as you think.

The real exploit is that if the unit holding the axe is killed in combat, the axe drops to the ground and can be picked up by another unit. So if you're attacking with a bunch of weak units, each of them can use the axe until you win a combat. Again, I don't see this as too terrible, since your units are dying, and if you win a combat the string is over.

The same thing is with all other stuff.
Axe is just so good that in case of it, it feels a little like cheating :)
