Earlier tonight, my girlfriend Gina  came over so we could go out to dinner "to celebrate the end of the semester." What she didn't know (though she suspected) was that wasn't the real reason. To make a long story short, she now is wearing a beautiful diamond ring :goodjob: and is no longer my girlfriend Gina, but rather my fiance Gina.

I'm so extremely happy right now I just wanted to share this with everyone here.:D

Well done and mucho congrats. As a veteran of several marriages I wish you many happy years [apparently gfeier is good for advice if you need it -- call me if you want to learn from mistakes -- I help out your neighbour, Ally McBeal].

Fantastic! [party]

Congrats!

Personally, getting married was one of the best things to ever happen to me. Jenny and I are getting closer and closer, and we still feel (and act) like newlyweds, even 3+ years later.

I wish you the best of luck, and many, many happy years together.

EJ

Congratulations!

One of my co-worker has just engaged. She is so happy since then. I can imagine how much joy you want to share.

With best wishes for your future happiness.

allow me to add my congatulations as well!! I got engaged this past june (we will be married this coming august) and I know the feeling. We got engaged on the roof of the metropolitan museum of art in new york and instantly called everyone we know!!!! It's definately a "shout from the mountain tops" feeling. Good luck with your new life together!!

Congrats, Beamup! Well, I guess that should be champaigne. This coming May, my wife and I celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary. I definitely wouldn't want it any other way. She's awesome. Sometimes we think back to days before marriage and kids. Stuff like, "Remember when....." It always gets us laughing. Enjoy! :)

P.S. Make sure you get the "Civ3 Pre-Nuptial Agreement" hammered out well. ;)

Many congratulations Beamup !

Congrats, Beamup. Like Sid, I'm a veteran of multiple marriages. Can't give you advice on how to make things work, but I can at least give you answers on what not to do!

Many thanks for your good wishes. This is the sort of thing that really makes this board seem like a community.

Oh, and Gina and I plan to be together for a long, long, time. We are definitely going to make this work, and work well.

Beamup, please accept my congratulations and wishes for happy, productive, and fulfilling marriage!

Congrats! My 28th anniversary is coming up, so I feel like I can give you some hard-earned advice - practice smiling sincerely and repeating the two magic words: "Yes, Dear." :D

Congrats, Beamup! I wish you and Gina a very long and happy reig– i mean marriage. I guess now you'll have to change the way your people address you: click on your leader, and change the ruler to "King and Queen". Then you can show her a city when they celebrate WLTKD.:king: :queen: Again, congrats on your engagement.

Gfeifer... is that "Yes, Dear" with or without the nasal tone of voice and slight lisp?

Way to go!
After 7 years of wedded bliss (and two kids), its a wonder I still have the energy for Civ (much less posting on forums)!

Without - but with just a hint of long-suffering patience. :D
