Overall strategy

We need to get our overall play based on a sound MP strategy which fits our current conditions, strengths, and weaknesses. Somewhere (Apolyton maybe?) there is a strategy paper which talks about several basic ways to play MP. If you know of this or other reference material please post it -- I'll do the same if I can just find it.
 
Strategic goals:
  • expand at breakneck speed
  • destroy Persia
  • stay current in tech race

Needed:
  • for expansion
    • settler factory in Springfield (just needs the mine on the grass, ready in 6 turns). Internal Consul needs to lead dotmapping so that it is clear where settlers have to go before they are built.
    • worker factory in Shelby, needs the wheat irrigated to do 1 worker per 4 turns, in synchrony with settler factory.
    • exploration in all directions to find good lands (but we're ok for the coming 15-20 turns I think).
  • for persia
    • technologies of Wheel and Warrior Code (immediately), Iron Working and HBR (before turn 50). Either trade for or research.
    • hook-up horses and iron. Let's hope we have some.
    • some towns with high shield potential, to build rax and train military.
    • a few 100 gold to upgrade warriors and perhaps chariots.
    • warriors for scouting, sentry and pillaging up north.
  • to stay in tech race: find team KISS, and hope for the best.

We are ahead in the techs atm so we wont fall behind straight away. The main thing we need to do is get the mounted warriors on line. Once we do this we'll need at least 5 groups of 5 or so MW, 3 for attacking, 2 for defence. The defencive groups should be about 6 to 8 sq ahead of our cities inbetween sentinels, that way they can harrass incoming attacker, so even a large group of immortals will have to survive 3 to 4 attacks before reaching our cities which should have a mix of spearman and archers. The attacking groups should pillage and raid TNT cities, if we have an oppertunity to captire a city do so and raze it. This way we can keep TNT on the back foot while continuing to expand ourselves. TNT only hold the asvantage if they can send immortals in unchallenged. We dont have the ability for a quick kill but we can win a war of attrition. If we can do all this successfully, TNT will be begging for peace and then we can laugh and say no.
