Dear All:

Greetings from Baker Street! I hope this finds you and yours well.

After having recently reinstalling Civ V, I'm now playing a late stage game as England, and I'm heading for the Diplomatic Victory. I have built the United Nations about a week ago, and I now find that I've pissed off (pardon my French!!) three quarters of the planet. Yes, folks, it was a minor miracle!! I also find that I'm walking on eggshells with everybody.

I have won my first vote, courtesy of Washington, with only six more remaining. Now, how the deuce do I get out of the pickle I'm in with my fellow players? I can't think of what I've might've done that would slightly put out with me.

By the by, I don't dare trade Uranium in case one of them uses it for not too peaceful purposes.

As always brainstorms, ideas and vague notions entertained here!!

Sincerely yours always,

Sherlock.

Dear All:

Greetings from Baker Street!! I hope this finds you and yours well.

I do hope that with the rest of the world ready to string me up by the thumbs that I do win the Diplomatic Victory. How do I make peace with at least one or two of them?

To the person who supplied the video: Is this supposed to be a solution to my diplomatic woes? I usually play as England because I have half Brit ancestry.

Sincerely yours always,

Sherlock.

Dear Pilgrim:

Greetings from Baker Street!!!

Excuse me for the dim question, but what did you mean by the CS and, also, how do you turn it off?

Will this solve my diplomatic woes?

Sincerely yours always,

Sherlock.

Hiho,

with CS he means City States, which you can ally. If they are allied with you, they are so happy and very nice to vote for you at the UN.
You can disable them when you start a game, but normally you got a bunch of them scattering around the map.

Sincerely

CS indeed means City States.
Unlike in Civ4 in order to achieve Diplomatic victory you don't really need other civs to vote for you, instead you can ally a bunch of city states and they will gladly do that. Unless, of course, you disabled them. Check Victory Progress screen to see how many votes you need and how many you currently have.
