Patch ruins game?

I downloaded a patch when prompted to when I entered multiplayer and it got finished all right. I tried to start the game but a message came up saying D3DX9_32.DLL was not found,so the game didnt start.

I turned off my computer and turned it back on and got the same message. Any ideas anyone? Will I have to reinstall,I'd rather not.

Read the stickies Seriously there is this thread that shows you how to fix it. Basically you have to download the newest DirectX9c release from Microsoft.

Yeah sorry about that I was trying to solve the problem frantically,but I tried to uninstall it but couldnt,so I went to the CP and removed it and reinstalled it, I dont mind though.
