I don't see why it'd be unreasonable to expect some sort of communication from them ahead of time even if they are going to lag the PC version on patches. At the very least they should have something on their webpage listing "Patch anticipated... Jan 2011" or whatever. I think it's ridiculous that you have to track down a particular Aspyr twitter feed for info. As of this morning it wasn't posted anywhere on their webpage and they didn't post any patch info/ETA to the @CivVMac twitter feed, which is where I'd look first for information on.... Civ V Mac version. As a paying customer, why should I have to hunt all over the internet to find this information?

That's an excellent point, with which I think most anyone would agree. I wasn't speaking to communication (as you can see, I was kinda pointing out that I suspected the communication off Twitter was misleading), I was simply speaking of the Patch release timing itself. The communication SHOULD be better, and the email I received from them pointedly did not specify a date. It SHOULD have. It should say "This is our expected date; software development is very difficult to accurately predict. We are working hard towards this date. If we find we cannot make this date, we will update our website <here> with the revised expected date". Communication would be complete. Customer (who is SO demanding) would not be "happy", perhaps, but would not be "dissatisfied".
