Patch V1.52 installation problems ! Please Help Me ! Registry help needed !

I downloaded the Civilization IV V1.52 patch but when I click on the setup file , it says the following error
`There is no version of Civilization IV installed, Setup requires a previous version of the game installed`

I have tried reinsalling the game but it did not help .
Can anyone post the registry entries so that I can check the registry .

I also downloaded the patch a couple of times but it did not work .

Is there any other way of manually installing by extracting the files?

Please help Me.

Where did you get the patch?

If you did not get it from the firaxis site, then download from there and use that one.

The patch was downloaded by the In-game `look for updates` option .
It exits to desktop in order to install the patch where I get this error !

Do NOT use it if you are a Direct2Drive customer -you have to use their version

Now , Iam able to play the game and install the patch without any hassles

Only the No-CD .exe is illegal, atleast in this forum. The regkey is fine to give.
