Recently, I have heard some speculation that final fantasy 11 for the XBox is going to be pay to play plus the original Live fee. Anyone have a definitive answer?

When you buy an X Box, you basicly turn over your checking acount and your line of credit over to the Microsoft Corperation. The manner in which they extract your money is merely details.

Final Fantasy XI is an MMORPG, any major (and decent) MMORPG is pay to play.

The computer and PS2 versions of Final Fantasy XI is pay to play, how else is Square going to get the money to keep the game servers running? Short of posting an advertisement on every inch of the game.

Also, your need the hard drive for the XBox 360.

If you want to play a Final Fantasy, buy a PS2... Final Fantasy 12 is coming out in just acouple of months.

Try going to Ragnarok online, Its free and it got a good comunity.
EDIT: forgot to mention that not ALL servers are free, sorry if i upset anyone

Ok, a mmorpg I understand. I am still against paying any money. [Not that am into pirating though.]

Well you still have to pay to play games on XBox live. Microsoft does offer free chat over the service though, you just can't play the games without paying.

That's stupid. You payed half a thousand $$s for the box, then you have to pay to play online? That's stupid. I like computers better anyways.
Even worse for the 360 Core System. You buy it and find out you can't do anything with it because it doesn't have a hard drive, so you have to buy that, and it costs about a third of the price of the console.

The core system would be a huge blunder for anyone to buy. When I went to get my 360, they had 29 premiums and two cores. If you bought a core just because it was cheaper, then you didn't do your homework and now you've been gipped (sp?).
For the most part, though, I am a huge fan of the Final Fantasy series and I just don't dig paying one fee to get online, and then another just to play one game. Whatever.

Buy the PC or PS2 version of Final Fantasy XI, you just have to pay for the game and not the XBox Live service then.

Hell, Final Fantasy XI has been out for almost 3 years now. It's not a new game.

Where I got the 360 they only had Core systems.
