PBEM/SG-- Team 2!

It looks like a fairly strong start position. Don't forget to chop the forest with the game and irrigate it. The game gives the same food bonus as cattle or wheat.

You have to see that this game bonus is on a plains tile. Once the forest is chopped, it will give +2 food, +3 after irrigation, and just +1 shield. So it's 2/2 vs 3/1, and for the moment I prefer 2/2. So the worker is actually not chopping the game forest.
But you gotta know that what I called "another spot" to get soon is an area where 2 games on grasslands stand !! I might consider building a settler ASAP to get there and set the new town as a settler factory, what do you think ? I could manage to chop the game while building the settler, so that we lose less time... Meanwhile, Moscow could build workers or military units, or a wonder, why not ? If it appears we get a free settler before Moscow gets 30 shields (a settler) in its box, then I'll build a settler instead of a granary and definitely go with this strategy.

About the game, no further turn has been played, I wonder what amirsan is doing. I might soon go to bed, I must stop going to bed at 3-4am. :D

I saw that the game was on a plains. I think 3/1 is preferable to 2/2 because our initial site looks shield rich and food poor. I agree that we should make the two game site our settler/worker factory and use Moscow to produce scouts. I would use the forest chop to build a settler.

Considering this is a deity game, I don't think we should waste our time trying to build any ancient age wonders. I have never completed one in a deity game, have you all?

For Early wonders on diety- once I got all early wonders, but that was because i started everyone off on 5 tile tundra/desert islands :D

Anyways, any more turns played?

OK, just a few notes before going  .
We're doing fine, we have the less points, but we're doing fine. :goodjob: Scout1 discovered some nice grasslands in the north-west, Scout2 is now running through deserts and hills in the south-west.
Crazy thing (noted in my report) : the worker was to finish a mine in 2 turns at one point. The next turn, the mine was completed  ; I wasn't able to move the worker (so, no change actually), the citizen was able to profit from the mine bonus (so, no change actually, except that I'm not sure whether he could have profitted from it one turn before if I had put him on this tile). Anyone got an answer ? Is it just unchanged from solo games, but there are these animations changes ?

I've just sent the game after our 3700bc turn. We expect to finish after our 3500bc on monday. Stay tuned ! :)

Finished my turns (as you can see in the sign up thread = thread for both teams). I'm quite unhappy with my turns for 2 reasons : I should have chopped the game first !! I don't know what I was thinking. Just thought we would need the 10 shield bonus for the granary, so no need to hurry, but I forgot about the food bonus delay that my move generated. :( This is a drawback for me, but let's not focus on this now... The 2nd thing is that we popped up 4 huts, and 3 were deserted. All my strategy was based on these huts (science 0%), so I hope luck will knock again. Here are my turns.

0- 4000bc : Scout moved N (hut popped up : Angle barbs teach us Ceremonial Burial), then NE.
Moscow founded on the starting tile, after a moment of hesitation. Citizen on the game. Start scout (edit : started warrior, then changed to scout in 3950bc !). Furs spotted.
F/S/G : +2/+3/+3.
Worker moved N, onto a river bonus grassland.
At 100% science, they are only 40-turns gambits available at the moment, of which 2 are of any interest : Iron Working and Mysticism. I decide not to research for the moment, as in Deity the AIs will surely beat us to either tech, and we want to take advantage of our expansionnist trait, so : science 0%.
I also see that they founded Salamanca in 4000bc.

1- 3950bc : Scout moved NW then N. 2 games on grasslands spotted.
Start mine (2nd scout produced by Moscow will be completed in 3 turns instead of 4 ; EDIT : wrong, see above).

2- 3900bc : Scout moved N then N.
Citizen moved from the game to a river bonus grassland.

3- 3850bc : Scout moved W then NW.

4- 3800bc : Moscow : scout > scout.
Citizen moved from the bonus grassland to the game.
Scout2 moved W then S. The water is not salty : it's a lake.
Scout1 moved N then NW. Hut spotted.

5- 3750bc : Scout1 moved N then NE. Hut deserted.
Scout2 moved W then W.

6- 3700bc : Crazily, the mine is now complete (but the worker can't move). Seems to be the PBEM crazy thingies starting to strike... Though I'm not sure we would have got the bonus shield if we had worked the grassland on the previous turn...
BTW, I made one mistake about MM : I thought this mine could give us Scout3 next turn, but even with all the time allowed, I messed up in my maths !
Citizen moved from the game to the river bonus grassland.
Scout1 moved SW then SW.
Scout2 moved SW then W.

7- 3650bc : Start road.
Qcout1 moved S then W.
Scout2 moved S then S.

8- 3600bc : Moscow : scout > warrior.
Scout1 moved S then S. Hut spotted.
Scout2 moved S : he's now just next to what seems to be Pasagardae ! I didn't see the light green borders with those flood plains on river ! Then W.
Xerxes is up Masonry and down Pottery and Ceremonial Burial. He would give us Masonry for both our techs + 36 gold + 1 gpt. I decide to not let him research faster and expect techs from huts.
Scout3 moved E then S.

9- 3550bc : Road completed, same situation as with the mine, worker can't move. We actually gained the gold bonus from the road 1 turn earlier than in a solo game.
Scout1 moved SW then E. Hut deserted. Damn !
Scout2 moved W then NW. Another lake spotted.
Scout3 moved S then S.
Lux 10% as Moscow will grow next turn ; there was a bug when a city got an unhappy citizen and expanded its borders in the same turn, and I don't know if it's still there, so I prevent that.

10- 3500bc : Moscow's borders expand. Moscow size 2.
Worker moved S (sorry, I think I missed the point in 4000bc : we need to chop the game now).
Scout1 moved S then S.
Scout2 moved SW then W (in Persian territory).
Scout3 moved S (hut spotted) then W. Hut deserted. DAMN !!

EDIT : I'll say it again, I'm mad at my move !! I didn't think of that until tonight... And I'm not sure if it's a good idea to build a granary in Moscow ; maybe we could send a settler to a site with more food for a settler factory...
And maybe I should take some sleep to play better... Or play less...

Pleeeaaase, call me krys !!! Please ! :D ;) (get it now ? know where it's from ?)

Yes, I'm thinking of that... I dunno where to borrow one, or how to create one... I'll think of it when I really want it... Now it's holidays time, and there's not much going on, so I don't bother...

As for this game, I really don't know what's going on. I sent the save to Gengis Khan and PM Earp our password (slightly modified, ;) he'll tell you). Earp, please tell us what you are doing about this game. I don't know how things will carry on, with amirsan unable to play Civ !!! :o

EDIT : Hehe, I just saw Earp in this part of the forum. Please tell us !
