Pbem

Thats an easy question Larry, I think I can answer that.

The idea is this:

1)Player one plays his round. Saves game at end of his turn.
2)Player one emails the .sav from game to player two.
3)Player two recieves .sav game from player one.
4)Player two plays his round. Saves game at end of his turn.
5)Player two emails the .sav from game to player three.

Repeat for as many players in the game. etc.

Have fun

I wondered about that... but doesn't the game "hang" cause player # 1 .. never hits the end turn button ?

Also ... you probably want to zip your .sav files .. before you send them on.

Another thought... because of the way the Diplomacy works... it will be hard to avoid getting repeatedly "raped" by the other players. You had better work something out in advance among yourselves.

Let us know what you come up with.

Well no it shouldn't hang, for once you load up a game in SP mode, the rest of the civs are taken over by the AI. And since it would have no moves left, it would automatically go to your turn......I think

I think that you would want to use the "Internet" style of game.. as opposed to the hot seat... you don't get to see the opponents turn in Hotseat.. at least in TOT. Of course this might be true in the other mode too.. since there is no replay function.

I'm playing in eight different ones, and this is the way to go:

Start the game or scenario as an internet game, and allow others to join. The IP and names don't matter. The turn order is the way the civs are listed, from top to bottom. Start the game, pick your tribe, play your turn (make sure you have the "end player turn" feature enabled). When you see the "end player turn" flashing, YOU MUST press Ctrl plus "N" at the same time, or the AI will move your fortified units.
Now go to where you nomaly save a game. You will see a new feature, the "password protect" feature. Click on it, give your tribe a password that's easy to remember (Important: Yopu must not forget this password, or your tribe is unusable), and assign it to your tribe. Now no one can look at your cities or mess with your units. Save the game with a simple name (Turn 1 w/your tribe name, and so on), and turn the game off.
DO NOT HIT ENTER, OR IT WILL START THE NEXT TRIBE'S TURN!
E-mail the save to the next player.
The save goes where you normally keep saves, in the scenario folder, or with the basic games saves.
It's very simple, and it works fine.
