I'm buying a new PC primarily for travel (I play CIV on the plane a lot). Does anyone know if CIV IV will work on a Netbook, and if it works with Windows 7? I'm a tech neophyte and am primarily buying the PC to play Civ! Thanks

Welcome to CFC :band:

it runs on windows 7 - as for a netbook: they usually do not have a cd drive themselves and usb-drives often don't interact with the copy protection scheme - so you should either get the US Civilization 4 Complete (not the EU version of that) or Beyond the Sword (which has the copy protection scheme removed as per the last patch) or buy the game with one of the online retailers like Steam or Direct2Drive. Also: you should try to post the laptop's/netbook's specs in order for someone here to be able to comment on whether it might work. Most laptops should be fine - though not as good as most desktops - with netbooks I'd hesitate...

Here are the specs of the laptop. I would have to download the game, but I'm hoping it will run fairly well with these specs.

* 1.3GHz Intel Core2 Duo SU7300 Processor
* 4096MB DDR2 667MHz Memory
* 320GB SATA Hard Drive, Intel WiFi Link 1000 802.11b/g/Draft-N, Bluetooth 2.1+ EDR
* 11.6" HD Widescreen CineCrystal LED-backlit Display, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD
* Windows 7 Home Premium, 8+ hours of battery life

Thanks for those of you who replied
