PC crashes after 30 minutes of CIV4 - please help.

Hi all,

I have a problem considering civ4. Every time I load up the game after 30 minutes, the game crashes and my screen turns blue - saying something about memory. I then can't get back to windows for 30 minutes. I've read that civ4 eats memory for breakfast, but I find a tool that will reduce this on this site. Is my PC way too old? Or should I just not bother? I'm attaching DXDIAG info.

Maybe I just have to buy a new laptop.

Have you installed Civ4 as per my thread at the top of this forum.

No, I have not. I saw this thread now, and I'll definitely give it a go. So the game should be able to run OK on my laptop? It's three years old but it can run most other game from the same era without problems.

EDIT: I installed the game after your instructions in the vista thread, and now I could play until 1200 before it crashed. Amazing, thanks!
