PC vs Mac Direct IP game???

Is is possible for a PC Conquests player to directly connect to a Mac Complete player? Or must it be PBEM?

I have no problems connecting mac to pc playing Civ 4 vanilla v 1.61, but have have had problems with warlords since I upgraded to v. 2.08 before that there was no problem.

Anyone else had the same problem? Any remedy?
