Peace Treaties appear without warning

Hi

Sorry if this has already been reported - I did a search but couldn't find anything that quite fitted this issue and it's driving me round the bend!

A Peace Treaty sometimes suddenly appears between myself and a couple of other civilizations just when I want to attack them (now a Master and Vassal since I couldn't attack the vassal before it became a vassal). Its always the same two nations.

The treaty just appears - it could be something to do with the agnostic palace but I don't see any voting happening before hand, they were at war with each other at the time and it didn't apply to any other nations. It's happened a few times now, very annoying! I have no other treaties bar Open Borders active.

Any ideas? Or is this a feature? I tried Civpeadia but it wasn't much help.

I'm running 3.13, - using the nocd version as I'm on a laptop without a drive although I've purchased the original Civ4, Warloards and Beyond the Sword, installed in that order.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Charlie

The peace treaties are produced whenever one player demands something from another player and this demand is met. This was introduced to make sure that you cannot demand tribute just to attack the same turn. So if you demand tribute you are forced into peace for 10 turns.

Thanks for the quick reply Ori. (And for the welcome!) Very helpful, that makes sense.

Also note that this will NOT protect you from having war declared on you by that AI you just traded with if the Apostolic Palace was used to declare war against you.
